There are times when something happens… maybe a tense exchange with a colleague, maybe someone was rude to you on the phone… that throws off your balance. You may be angry or distressed or just unable to concentrate on your work. This may be the time to take a short walk to calm down or to talk to a trusted colleague or to just close your eyes for a minute or two.
We wanted to provide you another tool that may help you relax. You can spend a few minutes looking through some landscape photos we've assembled. Each photo lasts about 20 seconds. Look closely at the colors, textures, and the play of light... By the time you've looked at a few of the photos and let your mind travel to a different place, we hope that the part of the brain that flashes red when you're upset has calmed down a bit.
