Ombuds Charter

It is a best practice of the ombuds profession to have an office charter signed by the head of the organization that recognizes the standards of practice by which the Ombuds Office will operate.  The Charter helps to delineate the privileges and responsibilities of the Ombuds Office and confirms that the institution’s commitment to respect the Ombuds Office tenets of confidentiality, independence, impartiality and informality.  View the Ombuds Office Charter.
